TUSKEGEE, Ala. — The ¹û½´ÊÓÆµ baseball team begins its postseason run on Thursday afternoon as the No. 7 seed in the 2025 Cricket SIAC Baseball Championship.
The Golden Tigers will face No. 2 seed Edward Waters University at 12 p.m. ET at Luther Williams Field in Macon, Georgia.
¹û½´ÊÓÆµ enters the tournament with a 19-29 overall record and a 15-18 mark in conference play, while Edward Waters enters with a dominant 33-16 overall record and 25-8 SIAC slate, making them one of the top contenders in the field.
¹û½´ÊÓÆµ has relied on a balanced offense and improving pitching staff throughout the season.
The Golden Tigers are hitting .300 as a team, led by senior outfielder Devon Lee, who boasts a .359 batting average with 46 RBIs, 23 stolen bases, and a .538 slugging percentage.
Close behind him is Ryan Morrow, who is hitting .347 with 41 RBIs and 22 stolen bases. John Saffold (.331), Scott Williams (.322), and Jabari Johnson (.350) round out a strong core that has contributed to 289 RBIs and 437 hits across 48 games.
¹û½´ÊÓÆµ has also proven aggressive on the base paths, stealing 221 bases in 259 attempts.
On the mound, the Golden Tigers are led by Mikelle Mason, who has collected a team-high seven wins in 14 appearances.
He has thrown 66.1 innings with 52 strikeouts. Amare Morgan and Richard Powell IV have also logged significant innings, combining for over 110 innings pitched.
As a staff, ¹û½´ÊÓÆµ carries an 8.81 ERA and has struggled with control at times, allowing 370 walks, but the team has managed to turn 31 double plays and collect five saves on the year.
Defensively, the Golden Tigers have a .946 team fielding percentage.
Key contributors in the field include James Slaughter, who has a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, and Evan Jones, who has committed just three errors in 232 chances for a .987 mark behind the plate.
Edward Waters enters Thursday's matchup with momentum on both sides of the ball.
